Steven Beckly

"Everything must break to be beautiful"

It's such a pleasure to view the work of Steven Beckly. Such striking narratives and of course, beautiful compositions. Might I also add that Steven is a Toronto based photographer?

I'm not biased at all, I promise

Buildings for Music

I had my first hand in for my thesis project on Thursday. It basically consisted of my proposal and some background research regarding my topic: "Buildings for music". Above are a few of my most successful pages. The Goal is to create "Spaces that hear" where the user is able to engage with music and the sounds of the metropolis.

This morning, I grabbed a coffee and walked to the subway to head to work with the hum of St. Vincent for company. Despite the spiraling winds and the snow melting on my nose, I couldn't help but smile to myself as Annie sang:

"Marry me, Jon
Marry me, Jon
I'll be so good to you"

As you move about your neighborhood, how does music or the sounds of your city effect your perception of space, time and people?

ACNE

                                                                                            J. Johansson // ACNE // Fall 2012

"In the midst of working with fakes, Johansson was thinking about an emotion that's anything but: the uncertainty and pain of young love. Who writhes like a heartsick kid does? The designer sprayed shirts and sweats with soulful but almost mocking prints of hearts, and charted a careering course between buoyant brights and moody black. "

yes, this is a long list of my favourite looks
yes, I did try to edit
yes, I do adore this collection

Vanessa Bruno

This has been my go to for inspiration these days.
You may get a few crazy looks but try walking backwards today. What is a stop sign if you never reach it?
