NO. 8 Necklace

This wonderful necklace was brought into the world by the lovely women behind Eleven Thirty on College Street West in Toronto ON. Besides some stunning accessories, the shop carries an array of bags with striking silhouettes, housewares and is home to a variety of workshops (Moccasins on 29/09/13!) It's the simple things in life that make my heart go

On Walking

"
I walked across the city today. You know, sometimes when you’re on a mission you don’t really take into account distance, fatigue or the salt on the side walk that has some unaccounted for vendetta against your new leather shoes. Sometimes the mission is so great that you listen to lord of the rings as you bounce along the sidewalk to make everything seem epic because..well, it IS epic. I know we’ve been tricked before but today felt like the first real spring day. It seems as though it’s been ages since I’ve seen the sun but it shone down on me like it had never left my side- like I had just dozed off for an incomprehensible amount of time and when I came to the sun was just there- loyal , as always...

Flannel

I think we might be being punished for having such a wonderful, short lived Spring Season with these cold, Autumn winds. If you find yourself shivering on the city streets, plan ahead and shiver in style! I've been keeping warm in this charming patterned maroon flannel lately. A little bit of layering goes a long way.

The Roaring 20s

My wardrobe is so boring these days and it's really putting a damper on my mood. Instead of being as productive as I should have been, I spent most of the day looking for "inspiration" that will inventively drain my bank account.
I've been avoiding the patriotic trend for far too long. I can't help but fall in in love with these grey denim pants.I was never a boy for stars and stripes but I'm slowly inviting pattern into my aesthetic.
I'm always falling in and out of love with the AAA collection at TOP MAN. This collared, semi transparent animal print shirt is definitely on my winning list- too bad it's from an older collection. It would have made for a fantastic summer look. As I embrace the warm weather, I keep on thinking about embracing the graphic Tee once again. This time around, I'll ditch the super heroes and the Hawaiian flowers. This Raw Power Nose Ring Tee fills my daily dose of post teenage angst.
Last but not least,  this gunmetal cage finger brace basically sums up all I've ever wanted in a piece of jewelry. Chrishabana, you will forever have my heart! As I type this, I realize the connotations of certain words but,  N.b. I mean it when I say that this ring is such an elegant design solution! But what do I know? I'm just a boring 20 something year old writing a boring blog entry on a boring Friday afternoon.

Appreciation

I stayed up last night making these Valentine's day cards for the special people in my life. To friends, family, lovers and all of YOU, Happy Valentine's day.
I appreciate you.

The Varsity

Last week I had the pleasure of being photographed by a good friend, Wyatt Clough for his school newspaper. The Varsity Magazine is apparently one of the top student run newspapers in Canada and I was more than enthusiastic when the design issue hit the stands on Monday. If you are a Torontonian, I urge you to pick up a copy. Besides pretty pictures and playful headlines, the writers for the paper are awfully talented.

You can download a copy of the issue

Noir Deux

Today, someone told me that my ideal black wardrobe for the winter season probably wasn't possible. I let that idea toss tumultuously in a sea of my thoughts as the day went on and finally had the opportunity to bring it to the surface when I got home. As I hung my coat, I stumbled upon an old friend that I had been storing in my closet for colder weather. I have yet to wear these beautiful black suede pants outdoors but in an attempt to prove a friend wrong, I put them on and began to pull together some monochromatic looks.

Know that I take no pleasure in saying this but, I TOLD YOU SO.

Dear Mother

On Saturday evening, I made my way just north of Bloor to a Cat Scratchin' release party of WORN Magazine's 13th Issue. If you happen to pick up a copy within the coming weeks, look for my face! Styled in the fashion of a young Mama B, I can't help but  thank my mother for her impeccable style then and now.

More photos to follow...

Chic

It's finally fall weather which means Layering... and Fur. I bought this lovely wolf tail from a naitive reserve this summer in Peterborough while visiting a dear friend. I think it's the perfect addittion to the tote my friend Jimmy brought back for me from New York this past summer. With an abundance of wool socks and layering in black, fall looks more promising than ever.

Atlas

I am made a necklace the other day. Lately I have been feeling the weight of the world on my shoulders. Instead of moping about it like I so often do- I decided to harness that weight and wear it around my neck. It would have done Atlas some good to get into crafty DIY projects.

Come Again

I spent a lovely evening with friends in Little Italy tonight & this was the perfect video to come home to. Not only is she such a wonderful musician but her style is so admirably energetic! I'm suddenly inspired to create vibrant outfits fit for warm summer nights. I'll be sure to show you all of them along the way. Until then, let's keep thia video on loop.

Navy in Spring

I've been so cozy in these navy blue wool pants.
I thrifted them a few months ago and finally got the chance to wear them outside of the house.
If all goes well, I won't be able to wear this gem again until fall. Let's all hope for sunnier days and warm weather!

Zoo Kid

I fell in love with this song today and the video! It's always so awesome to see young musicians outside the absurd world of pop music.
