NO. 8 Necklace

This wonderful necklace was brought into the world by the lovely women behind Eleven Thirty on College Street West in Toronto ON. Besides some stunning accessories, the shop carries an array of bags with striking silhouettes, housewares and is home to a variety of workshops (Moccasins on 29/09/13!) It's the simple things in life that make my heart go
"OOOOO"

"Me: What's the name of that band again?

Him: How to dress well. It's easy to remember... It's what you do."

It's Your Birsday

So young, So Brave and so impeccably dressed.
It's Artists like Sliimy that push me reconsider my personal style as a vehicle for self-expression. Not only is his style truly admirable but his voice and overall sense of being tickles my heart. Today is his Birthday and from one artist to another I'd like to say: Joyeux Anniversaire. Another year older is another year to grow creatively.

1901

Birdy's album finally came out and it's making my week manageable. I remember hearing her Cover of "Skinny Love" a few months ago on an episode of The Vampire Diaries (No Judgement) and I fell in love. I'm always a fan of a good cover but I rarely believe that they are comparable to the original. It's safe to say that her cover is more than worthy of standing next to Bon Iver's rendition.
The album is basically a compilation of Covers but I'm definitely OK with that. I took a shortcut down memory lane on my way to the studio as I smiled to the Birdy's interpretations of "1901" by Pheonix and "The District Sleeps alone Tonight by The Postal Service". With smooth vocals and great style, I can't help but send my support for Birdy all the way from Toronto as her career takes flight. The best part of it all: She's just 15 years old. What did you accomplish at that age?

Home

It's far too hard to choose a favourite Whitney Houston song when so many are dear to my heart. As a young boy I remember singing along to 'How Will I know' with my mother, two stepping to 'Dance with Somebody' and discovering the complexities of the heart to 'I will always love you'. Before those hits, Whitney Houston covered  'Home'- one of my all time favourite songs from the Broadway hit Musical  'the Wiz'. There's a quiet beauty about it that makes me smile uncontrollably. I hope that feeling is contagious.

Needless to say, the music industry has suffered a great loss but let us all be thankful for the legacy left behind.

"Living here in this brand new world might be a fantasy but it's taught me to love...so it's real"

Come Again

I spent a lovely evening with friends in Little Italy tonight & this was the perfect video to come home to. Not only is she such a wonderful musician but her style is so admirably energetic! I'm suddenly inspired to create vibrant outfits fit for warm summer nights. I'll be sure to show you all of them along the way. Until then, let's keep thia video on loop.
