I keep on thinking about the Solange concert I was so fortunate to able to get tickets to. If this is the type of response she's getting with an EP, her album is going to set the world on fire. I think we'd all manage to tame the fire in our hearts for the one and only: Solange Knowles.

Miss Tina
I had such a quiet weekend at home. I immersed myself in my work felt at ease being indoors. As a result I updated my I Pod and my ears are thankful for new company! I'm grinning as I type this and my ears are tingling in agreement. On my web travels I found myself in Camden Palace (KOKO) in London, England listening to the brilliant Miss Tina perform "A Change is Gonna Come". I love me some Sam Cooke but Tina's rendition made me feel overwhelmingly optimistic.
Doesn't Everybody need a little optimism on a Monday?

1901
Birdy's album finally came out and it's making my week manageable. I remember hearing her Cover of "Skinny Love" a few months ago on an episode of The Vampire Diaries (No Judgement) and I fell in love. I'm always a fan of a good cover but I rarely believe that they are comparable to the original. It's safe to say that her cover is more than worthy of standing next to Bon Iver's rendition.
The album is basically a compilation of Covers but I'm definitely OK with that. I took a shortcut down memory lane on my way to the studio as I smiled to the Birdy's interpretations of "1901" by Pheonix and "The District Sleeps alone Tonight by The Postal Service". With smooth vocals and great style, I can't help but send my support for Birdy all the way from Toronto as her career takes flight. The best part of it all: She's just 15 years old. What did you accomplish at that age?

Band of Horses will have my heart forever (beards and all). I always love when R&B and indie rock collide and CeeLo Green's cover of "No one's going to love you" is no exception. I'm actually a bit overwhelmed right now. I love this cover so much and I've finally had the time and the memory to look up the music video. It's FANTASTIC. I hope my bearded friends are CeeLo admirers.
