I coveted the most amazing book early this morning called : The Canadian City. It's a collection of essays in Urban History. As I moved about the city today I couldn't help but try to pin point the characteristics of the city that I've come to love so much. After much internal debate, the answer came to me when a bird flew just above my head. SCALE. It's as simple as that. No matter how tall we build and no matter how small we become in relation to the built environment it will always feel like Home. I know that this is a bold statement but it would be best to discuss it again in a few years. I imagine I'll still be mystified by the intricately woven stories of the people and the buildings of Toronto.
