Free Angela

I watched the most interesting documentary the other day called the Black Power Mixtape with footage by a group of Swedish Journalists and direction by Göran Olsson. It follows important figures in Black America from 1967-1975. I recall seeing the iconic images of Angela Davis from the 70s but never took the time to engage in her story. After watching the film, I have a new appreciation for the Free Angela Campaign and her part in the rise of Black America during the civil rights movement. It's black history month. It's about time we all got an education.

"Black is beautiful but, black isn't power...Knowledge is.
You can be black as a crow or, white as snow
BUT if you don't know and you ain't got no doe
you can't go and that's for sho
