In my life, I've been fortunate enough to encounter some wonderful educators that have played a monumental role in shaping the young man I am today. I'm sure we've all seen too many films about inspirational teachers but Monsieur Lazhar seems to be more about a film with an inspirational teacher rather than a film about an inspirational teacher. It is because of this aspect and the subtly brilliant performances in this film that I can't help but suggest that you plan to watch it. You'll laugh. You'll Cry and leave the theater with utmost gratitude for the teachers that have enriched your life and the fact that good screen plays still exist.
Less is More. Lesson Learned.
