Gratitude for Gravity

In little increments, from time to time, I think it's safe to say that we all view moments in life as a failure to fly. This can be simplified to that big red F on your fourth grade math test all the way up to the moment you realize the ring on your finger no longer represents a love worth fighting for. I just finished a wonderful season of Starz' Gravity- a dramedy surrounding a support group of unique individuals who attempted suicide. I honestly think that it's one of the best shows I've seen in a really long time. I laughed, I cried and I have a new perspective on life in general. I think that encompasses the essence of good television beyond entertainment value. Contrary to my opinion, the season's cliff hanging finale turned out to be a series finale. My coffee suddenly became bitterer and I had the sudden urge to plug this show.

As the credits faded in and out on my screen, I was comforted by Lucy Schwartz' Gravity. With an alluring mix of Ingrid Michaelson and Nerina Pallot, Lucy's music video for her song Gravity is ART to the nth degree. I can hardly express my gratitude for the forces and creative minds that tie us to our Earth and make living that much more comfortable.
